This class is for LMHCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, and psychologists who are currently Qualified Supervisors who wish to renew their status. This is an approved continuing education course for supervisory training in the State of Florida pursuant to Section 491.005, F.S., and 64B4 F.A.C. The course provides 4 hours of online didactic and interactional instruction. As a result of attending this workshop, the attendees will review changes to Florida laws and rules relating to Interns and Supervisors. We will discuss various electronic delivery systems for supervision and methods for ensuring confidentiality. The attendees will gain an understanding of ethical, legal, and regulatory issues of supervision, including documentation of the supervisory sessions. We will review research on effective supervision models and challenges in supervision. We will address how cultural issues can affect the supervisory relationship while discussing the accountability of both the supervisor and the intern in the supervisory relationship. Lastly, the attendees will consider the ethical, legal, and regulatory issues of teletherapy.
